\u201cCatfish: The TV Show,\u201d<\/a> the hit MTV reality show that tackled the challenges of online dating, is ending after nine seasons. <\/p>\n Host Nev Schulman and former host Max Joseph, made an announcement about the show\u2019s cancelation in an Instagram video<\/a> posted Monday, Sept. 22.<\/p>\n \u201cHey guys! So, that\u2019s a wrap on \u2018Catfish.\u2019 After 12 years and almost 300 episodes and just a lot of traveling around this incredible country. A lot of phone calls. A lot of Facetimes. A lot of economy flights, a lot of reverse image searches, a lot of Hilton Garden Inns, Catfish has officially been cancelled,\u201d the duo said. <\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Catfish\u2019 as we know it is over, but what an incredible journey its been.\u201d Shulman continued.<\/p>\n Based on the award-winning 2010 documentary directed by Nev Shulman\u2019s brother, Ariel Shulman and Henry Joost, \u201cCatfish: The TV Show\u201d premiered on in 2012 on MTV and concluded its ninth season in July 2024.<\/a><\/p>\n Schulman and Joseph co-hosted the show for its first seven seasons. A lineup of celebrity co-hosts joined the team after Joseph departed the series as series co-host. Kamie Crawford joined as a permanent host halfway through Season 7.<\/p>\n In 2018, celebrity guest hosts, including Elle King, Charlamagne Tha God and Machine Gun Kelly, replaced Joseph and appeared alongside Schulman. Kamie Crawford then joined as a permanent host with Schulman from 2018 to 2024.<\/p>\n According to multiple reports, MTV is allowing \u201cCatfish\u201d producers to shop the series elsewhere.
