A special evening of world-class music on\u00a0Sunday, Sept. 28, featuring the Brazilian instrumental duo\u00a0Canta, Violino! \u2013 with violinist\u00a0Andrew Finn Magill\u00a0and guitarist\u00a0Edinho Gerber \u2013 alongside acclaimed Americana singer-songwriter\u00a0Tyler Sj\u00f6str\u00f6m.<\/p>\n
Each evening begins with a\u00a0community potluck and social hour from 6-7 p.m., followed by the concert at\u00a07 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. A\u00a0suggested donation of $20\u201330\u00a0helps support the artists in these all-ages show.<\/p>\n

The project unites award-winning jazz violinist\u00a0Andrew Finn Magill, whose work has been featured on NPR, PBS, and TEDx, with seven-string guitar master\u00a0Edinho Gerber, a seasoned performer raised between the U.S. and Brazil. Emerging from the Chicago music scene, he has performed at\u00a0SXSW, Lollapalooza, Smiling Acres Fest, and C2C Berlin, and shared stages with the likes of\u00a0Tenille Townes, Judah & the Lion, Joseph, The Secret Sisters, and The Mighty Oaks. Carey and John Raymond have followed parallel yet distinct musical journeys. Carey became the right-hand man to Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), collaborated with artists such as Sufjan Stevens and Bruce Hornsby, and released critically acclaimed solo albums praised by\u00a0Pitchfork\u00a0and\u00a0NPR. Raymond carved out a career as an internationally recognized jazz trumpeter, releasing eight albums (including four Grammy-nominated projects) and earning acclaim from\u00a0\u201cDownbeat Magazine\u201d\u00a0for \u201csteering jazz in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n Shadowlands is the convergence of these worlds: a lush and atmospheric blend of indie folk, forward-thinking jazz, cinematic pop, and subtle electronic textures.
