Actress Imogen Poots has said Kristen Stewart \u201cchanged her life\u201d for giving her a chance in new film The Chronology Of Water.<\/p>\n
The English actress, 36, best known for 28 Weeks Later and Vivarium, stars in the upcoming drama about a scholarship swimmer who reconciles with her violent and traumatic childhood when she goes to university, finding refuge in literature.<\/p>\n
The biographical film, based on Lidia Yuknavitch\u2019s memoir of the same name,\u00a0marks the directorial debut of Stewart, who is best known for starring in The Twilight Saga film franchise alongside Robert Pattinson.<\/p>\n
Speaking about Stewart to Tatler Magazine, Poots said: \u201cShe could have made that film with a huge star, probably got the finance relatively quickly, but she was loyal to me, which is a very rare thing these days.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor one woman to give another woman that kind of chance is very cool.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe changed my life; it\u2019s a huge thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair have since become good friends with Poots describing their relationship as a \u201cvery pure friendship\u201d.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cIt\u2019s hard to speak about because it means so much to me: we didn\u2019t really know each other (before filming) but \u2013 we\u2019ve always said this \u2013 we feel like we\u2019ve always known one another.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe both are very comfortable around each other, it\u2019s a very pure friendship.\u201d<\/p>\n
The actress said she became \u201cobsessed\u201d with swimming, adding that she \u201cloved\u201d\u00a0learning a new skill and improving her technique for the film.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cIf you f*** it up, you\u2019re a visual embarrassment, so I was getting lessons from Brazilian and Latvian former child champions and became really obsessed.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd flip turns \u2013 that took a long time because you have to get your feet on the wall in a certain position and do the full rotation. But I loved it.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs an adult, you\u2019re either striving with work or entering motherhood so to learn a new skill was very healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Poots also stars in the upcoming films All Of You, alongside Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein, and romantic drama Hedda.<\/p>\n
