While the Backstreet Boys continue their Las Vegas residency, a rival boy band might not be reuniting any time soon.<\/p>\n
NSYNC had been close to getting back together for a massive stadium tour, but multiple sources told Us Weekly<\/a> that their plans are now on hold indefinitely.<\/p>\n While one insider told the magazine that JC Chasez<\/strong>, Lance Bass<\/strong>, Joey Fatone<\/strong> and Chris Kirkpatrick<\/strong> \u201cwere all on board,\u201d the \u201ctiming wasn\u2019t right\u201d for Justin Timberlake<\/strong> because he was on his solo tour until July and is now battling Lyme disease.<\/p>\n Timberlake, 44, announced his diagnosis on social media the day after his final show.<\/p>\n “I honestly don\u2019t know what my future is onstage but I\u2019ll always cherish this run!” he wrote on Instagram<\/a> July 31.<\/p>\n The source told Us Weekly that Chasez, 49, Bass, 46, Fatone, 48, and Kirkpatrick, 53, \u201cdon\u2019t want to\u201d hit the road without Timberlake, whom they publicly supported following his health update.<\/p>\n Kirkpatrick told his Instagram followers<\/a> on July 31 that he \u201ccouldn\u2019t be more proud\u201d to call Timberlake a friend.<\/p>\n The Grammy-nominated group has reunited several times, including the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, where they performed \u201cGirlfriend\u201d and \u201cBye Bye Bye.\u201d But they haven\u2019t toured altogether since 2002, Us Weekly noted on Thursday, September 25.<\/p>\n Another source told the magazine that NSYNC \u201chad a lot of things planned\u201d to celebrate their milestone 30th anniversary this year, which are also now postponed.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Fatone\u00a0told Parade exclusively<\/a> that he hoped to have details about a possible reunion \u201chopefully freaking soon.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked if he had news to share, Fatone told Parade, \u201cI wish. That sounds great. It would sound fabulous for me, but I have absolutely no idea until we have a conversation. People have been asking me when that conversation is. It\u2019s hopefully freaking soon. Honestly, after I\u2019m done on March 16, maybe we sit down and have a conversation.
