The upcoming \u201cHarry Potter\u201d series<\/a> could be going in a very different direction from the movies with one casting decision.<\/p>\n Earlier this month, insider Daniel Richtman, who is known for entertainment industry leaks, wrote via X<\/a> that the HBO series is \u201cauditioning both men and women\u201d for the role of Lord Voldemort. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s possible we could see a female Voldemort in the Harry Potter series,\u201d Richtman continued.<\/p>\n NJ.com has reached out to HBO for comment.<\/p>\n Ralph Fiennes played the role of Voldemort in the \u201cHarry Potter\u201d film series. The infamous wizard\u2019s real name is Tom Riddle, but he\u2019s also known as The Dark Lord and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. <\/p>\n Distorted from the mutilation of his soul through the creation of horcruxes, Fiennes\u2019 Voldemort was bald and pale with two nostril slits instead of a nose. She played the White Witch in the \u201cChronicles of Narnia\u201d films. <\/p>\n While Voldemort\u2019s casting remains up in the air, most of the other roles have been assigned. <\/p>\n The \u201cHarry Potter\u201d series cast includes Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley), Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger), John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), Paapa Essiedu<\/a> (Severus Snape), Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid), Luke Thallon (Quirinus Quirrell), Paul Whitehouse (Argus Filch), Lox Pratt (Draco Malfoy), Johnny Flynn (Lucius Malfoy), Rory Wilmot (Neville Longbottom), and Gracie Cochrane (Ginny Weasley). <\/p>\n The \u201cHarry Potter\u201d series is slated to premiere in 2027.
