We\u2019ve blinked and September is all but over. As we speed ever closer to the end of the year, we\u2019ve added ten more tracks to our Discovery playlist on Spotify and Apple Music. Amongst the ten are two tracks we held exclusive premieres for earlier in the week.<\/p>\n
This week also saw the welcome return of the acclaimed singer-songwriter Didirri<\/strong> with two poignant and emotive companion songs: \u201cA Kind of Moving On\u201d and \u201cDon\u2019t Talk\u201d, we\u2019ve made the former our Track of the Week.<\/p>\n Both tracks are quietly powerful and moving, delivered stripped back and recorded live in one day. The tracks, which explore themes of resilience and transformation and take inspiration from his grandmother\u2019s story, are a welcome reminder of Didirri\u2019s skill as songwriter and storyteller. As Didirri<\/strong> shares, \u2018I explore the delicate threads that connect generations through the lens of my grandmother\u2019s journey across continents. These songs weave together the anxiety of major life transitions with the echoes of her migration story. As I grappled with my own fears of change, I found myself drawing parallel lines to her courage \u2013 leaving everything familiar behind for an uncertain future. They move between intimate personal reflections and broader themes of inherited resilience. I am attempting to honour both the weight of significant change and the strength it takes to embrace it.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n The result is a beautiful slice of emotive indie folk. Didirri will be heading out on tour across Canada from October 23rd for a series of shows, with support from Rowena Wise. He\u2019ll then be heading back to Australia to see out November with a handful of shows also with Rowena Wise. For more information and tickets head HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n Sydney\u2019s indie-pop darlings Salarymen<\/strong> have dropped \u201cIf You Want Me\u201d, the final single from their debut album, Take It Or Leave It<\/em><\/a>, which will be released on the 31st of October. It\u2019s a nostalgic and heartbreaking duet, with Renee de la Motte and Thomas Eagleton, trading lines and apologies for a relationship that didn\u2019t work out. It\u2019s another fine release from a band that constantly delivers killer lyrics, beautiful melodies and sundrenched goodness. They will be touring the UK in November and December before heading home for the fabulous Lost Paradise festival over New Year. Catch them if you can.<\/p>\n Also making a return this week is beloved West Australian rock outfit Death by Denim<\/strong>. \u201cKetamine Dream\u201d is from the band\u2019s freshly announced third studio album Ladybug \u2013 out mid-November, and is described by the band as being \u2018written about an intense trip with ketamine infusion therapy. It\u2019s a hazy rock and roll soundscape set against a driving beat, filled with many twists and turns \u2013 both dark and euphoric \u2013 to reflect the unconventional healing experience.\u2019<\/em>\u00a0With a driving beat, hazy guitars, and a pulsing bass \u201cKetamine Dream\u201d delivers its dose with swagger and style.<\/p>\n It\u2019s been a big week for KT Tunstall<\/strong> fans. She has released a new single, \u201cCancerian\u201d and announced an Australian tour in May 2026. The track is a folk\/rock\/blues mix with a propulsive beat and imbued with KT\u2019s trademark humour. We caught KT in Sydney on her 2014 tour (was it really that long ago!) \u2013 and flagged her as a \u2018must see\u2019 for whenever she comes back to Australia. It was a brilliant night, the humour and engagement with the audience were a standout. KT will be performing her groundbreaking multi-million-selling debut album, Eye To The Telescope<\/em>, in it\u2019s entirety. Don\u2019t hesitate in getting tickets \u2013 head HERE<\/a> for the pre-sale<\/p>\n \u201cCoughing Fits\u201d is the debut single from Liverpool-based queer indie rock project Trial Tapes <\/b>\u2013 the brainchild of songwriter and producer Jack McNally. Emotionally candid songwriting meet warped guitars and lush synths on \u201cCoughing Fits\u201d creating this delightfully hazy, fuzzy dreamy celebration of life and identity that\u2019s left us wanting more.<\/p>\n Another AU favourite Abbey Lane<\/strong> has today released her latest EP, Lessons Learnt<\/em>. The six tracks on the EP illustrate the path of early adulthood, through the various challenges of love, relationships and growth. The title track drives forward on a wave of dynamic guitars and energetic pop-rock vibes. Abbey\u2019s vocals pierce through the noise with clarity and brilliance, turning introspection into something vivid and electrifying. There will be an EP launch<\/a> at Dulwich Hill on the 18th of October. Get on down and support a brilliant young artist.<\/p>\n Also this week we have \u201cFooty\u201d from Boorloo\/Perth five piece Yawn Vibes<\/b>. The track is from the band\u2019s debut album, Never End<\/i>, which is out today. Opening crowd cheers aside, \u201cFooty\u201d is a tender and sophisticated slice of indie rock, with some striking vocals from lead singer Taylah McLean.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Finally, we also have \u201cGarden State\u201d from Brisbane rockers\u00a0The Comfort<\/strong>. The single is the last before the release of their new album Let The Love In<\/em> next week. <\/em>We also have two premieres from earlier in the week \u2013 \u201cMaraschino\u201d from Arabella and The Heist<\/strong> and \u201cBuckle and Belt\u201d from Ash Santilla<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Catch all the new music updated every Friday on Apple Music:<\/p>\n
