The 94-year-old Hollywood veteran<\/a> on Thursday urged his social media followers to be mindful of where they get their information, writing \u201cdon\u2019t trust tabloids or AI!\u201d He shared the cautionary message as he addressed reports that he was hospitalized Wednesday in Los Angeles. <\/p>\n The actor shared a meme of himself portraying Mark Twain in an episode of the Canadian series \u201cMurdoch Mysteries\u201d<\/a> to his Instagram<\/a> and X <\/a>(formerly Twitter) accounts. \u201cRumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated,\u201d says the text over the photo, referencing a famous and famously misquoted line from the American literary icon. <\/p>\n Shatner also opened up about his health in his caption for the meme: \u201cI over indulged. I thank you all for caring but I\u2019m perfectly fine.\u201d<\/p>\n TMZ<\/a> reported Wednesday evening that the Emmy-winning actor \u2014 who famously originated the role of Capt. Kirk on the TV series that launched the \u201cStar Trek\u201d universe \u2014 was hospitalized \u201cafter suffering a medical emergency.\u201d Shatner agent Harry Gold confirmed to the outlet that the star \u201cexperienced an issue with his blood sugar\u201d while at his Los Angeles home and called emergency services \u201cas a precaution.\u201d <\/p>\n Gold confirmed in a statement shared Thursday that his client is \u201cperfectly healthy,\u201d echoing the \u201cBoston Legal\u201d and \u201cT.J. Hooker\u201d actor\u2019s social media sentiments. <\/p>\n Shatner addressed his health after previously discussing his tinnitus. In a video<\/a> for nonprofit Tinnitus Quest he said that his struggles with the condition \u2014 in which a person experiences ringing or other noises in one or both ears \u2014 began during his \u201cStar Trek\u201d days when he was \u201ctoo close to the special effects explosion,\u201d which left him with permanent tinnitus. <\/p>\n \u201cOver the years, I\u2019ve had many up and downs with my tinnitus, and I know from firsthand experience just how difficult it can get,\u201d he said, later encouraging viewers to donate to the nonprofit.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
