Fans of classic country will be delighted to hear that the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band<\/strong> is back with brand-new music for the first time in over a decade. The iconic group \u2014 best known for their Platinum smash \u201cFishin\u2019 in the Dark\u201d \u2014 just announced their upcoming EP Night After Night<\/a>, out October 24, 2025.<\/p>\n Produced by Grammy-winning dobro master Jerry Douglas<\/strong>, the five-song project marks the band\u2019s first all-new release since 2009\u2019s Speed of Life. The title track is already available to stream<\/a>, showcasing a Tom Petty-esque<\/strong> sound that frontman Jeff Hanna<\/strong> says was love at first listen.<\/p>\n \u201cMy friend, Buddy Miller<\/strong>, sent me the tune \u2018Night After Night,\u2019 written by two of my favorites: Paul Kennerley<\/strong> and Daniel Tashian<\/strong>,\u201d Hanna said. \u201cThe band\u2019s response was an immediate \u2018Oh, hell yes!\u2019 It\u2019s right in our wheelhouse, and it\u2019s pretty easy to tell what a blast we had playing and singing it.\u201d<\/p>\n RELATED: Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood Just Made Nashville Nights Even Wilder<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Recorded at Ocean Way Studios in Nashville, the EP also features Hanna\u2019s wife, celebrated songwriter Matraca Berg<\/strong>, and their son and bandmate Jaime Hanna<\/strong>, who takes lead vocals on two tracks. Fans can expect fresh originals like \u201cNashville Skyline\u201d alongside cuts that highlight the group\u2019s signature harmony blend and rootsy instrumentation.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s right in our wheelhouse, and it\u2019s pretty easy to tell what a blast we had playing and singing it.\u201d \u2014 Jeff Hanna<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Collectors will want to act fast \u2014 vinyl editions of Night After Night<\/a> will be extremely limited, pressed with music on one side and a special etching on the other. CDs and digital pre-saves are also available through the band\u2019s official store.<\/p>\n The release comes as the band continues their All the Good Times: The Farewell Tour<\/strong>, with dates across the U.S. and Canada, plus a stop at San Francisco\u2019s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival on October 3.
