As reality TV continues to grow, we see new generations of talent rising. Sometimes, when the timing is just right, you\u2019ll see more than one generation shining. That\u2019s what happens when you put together Real Housewives of Atlanta<\/a> star Kandi Burruss<\/a><\/strong>, her mom \u201cMama Joyce\u201d Jones<\/a><\/strong>, and her daughter Riley Burruss<\/a> <\/strong>of Next Gen NYC<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n The trio got together to dish on family life and success. It was nice to see three generations supporting one another. Mama Joyce has always supported Kandi. And now that Riley is finding her own reality TV success, Kandi is trying to pay it forward<\/a>.<\/p>\n Kandi credits \u201cgood communication\u201d for Riley\u2019s relatively drama-free youth and her closeness with Mama Joyce.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m one of those moms where Riley could tell me anything,\u201d Kandi shared with PEOPLE<\/a>. She explained that the way she is with Riley stems from her own relationship with Mama Joyce. Kandi\u2019s mom was supportive of her goals but also honest and had no problem telling her when something was off.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m a straight shooter,\u201d Joyce explained. \u201cI don\u2019t sugarcoat anything! If you don\u2019t want the truth, don\u2019t ask me.\u201d<\/p>\n Riley agreed with her assessment and added with a laugh, \u201cMy grandma is a bit of a shade assassin.\u201d That certainly explains where Kandi got her iconic straightforward attitude<\/a> and, in a way, where Riley did as well.<\/p>\n The three women have had their turn in the Bravo spotlight, and their hard work has ensured their success<\/a> in all their endeavors. Kandi especially credits Mama Joyce for letting her find her own way in her teens, including being part of a girl band and trying things out.<\/p>\n \u201cShe was so supportive,\u201d Kandi shared. \u201cAs long as I kept my grades up, I could travel the world with the group. It\u2019s different when you have a parent who allows you to try new things and encourages you.\u201d And now she tries to be the same<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cMy mom is clearly insanely powerful and talented,\u201d Riley admitted. \u201cAnytime I\u2019m confused by something in the world, I call her because I don\u2019t think anyone could give me a better answer than her.\u201d<\/p>\n Granted, it\u2019s not all smooth sailing.
