After earning three Oscar nominations for her 2021 directorial debut, The Lost Daughter, Maggie Gyllenhaal is making her return to the screen. Her new film, The Bride, is inspired by Mary Shelley\u2019s classic novel Frankenstein and the 1935 film, Bride of Frankenstein.<\/p>\n

Are you ready??\u201d<\/p>\n Ahead, here\u2019s everything we know so far about the film.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s the film\u2019s official synopsis, per Variety<\/a>:<\/p>\n \u201cA lonely Frankenstein travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the aid of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police, and a wild and radical social movement.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Jessie Buckley stars as the titular bride of Frankenstein, while Christian Bale plays Frankenstein\u2019s monster.
