Leading up to the Latin American leg of his Cosa Nuestra World Tour, set to continue on Oct. 13 in Chile, Rauw Alejandro<\/a> dropped his new studio album Cosa Nuestra: Cap\u00edtulo 0 \u2014 a prequel to his chart-topping<\/a> Cosa Nuestra released last fall \u2014 on Friday (Sept. 26).<\/p>\n A contrast to his 2024 set that was elegant and glamorous, and inspired by New York in the \u201870s and the era of the Sicilian mafia, Cosa Nuestra: Cap\u00edtulo 0 \u201cis all about the Caribbean, not only Puerto Rico,\u201d he tells Billboard. \u201cThere\u2019s so much inspiration in music from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Haiti \u2014 I believe we\u2019re all one nation. The Caribbean shares the same blood \u2014 we\u2019re Indian, African and Spanish \u2014 that\u2019s our race.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n Sonically, the 14-track set offers traditional bomba and plena (\u201cCarita Linda,\u201d \u201cCaribe\u00f1o\u201d); his first-ever bachata called \u201cSilencio,\u201d written and produced by Romeo Santos; and closes with three brand new salsa tunes, including the sultry \u201cCallej\u00f3n de los Secretos\u201d with Mon Laferte.<\/p>\n Rauw Alejandro<\/p>\n In between, he gives fans his signature perreo and R&B numbers, including \u201cBuenos T\u00e9rminos,\u201d \u201cNostalgia de Oto\u00f1o\u201d and \u201cContrabando,\u201d and is also home to the previously released 2024 banger \u201cSanta\u201d with Rvssian and Ayra Starr.<\/p>\n Cosa Nuestra: Cap\u00edtulo 0 \u2014 which Rauw began working on in 2023 \u2014 drops in the midst of this Cosa Nuestra world tour,<\/a> allowing him to create new music while \u201cstaying in the same era and character,\u201d he notes.<\/p>\n \u201cThe meaning of Cosa Nuestra is so big that I have to release 20 albums to explain its concept. There\u2019s no time to do that in just one album,\u201d he laughs. \u201cI\u2019m going to continue to bring my roots to the world.
