Josh Brolin<\/strong>, fresh off the success of the horror feature Weapons<\/strong>, has boarded Wade Eastwood<\/strong>\u2018s action comedy film. This will be Eastwood\u2019s first feature as a director. He has previously served as second unit director and stunt coordinator on Mission: Impossible \u2013 Fallout, Mission: Impossible \u2013 The Final Reckoning, Jumanji: The Next Level, and more.<\/p>\n Brolin will star in Eastwood\u2019s directorial debut, Mister, and produce the movie through Brolin Productions, Deadline<\/a> reported. Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee will also produce for Thunder Road Films. The company\u2019s previous credits include the John Wick franchise projects, the Sicario movies, and 2025\u2019s Fight or Flight. Nicki Cortese and Nick Inglis developed the screenplay.<\/p>\n According to its logline, Mister revolves around a man (Brolin) who \u201cwakes up in a strange house covered in blood and comes to realize his true identity while fighting off contract killers from his past\u2014including everyone from his exes to his best friend.\u201d Hoping to escape, the man \u201cteams up with his estranged daughter who has also ended up in the family business, but they will need to repair their relationship in order to survive.\u201d<\/p>\n Brolin has had an incredible last few years as an actor. He portrayed Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Gurney Halleck in Denis Villeneuve\u2019s Dune movies. In 2025, he will also appear in the upcoming Wake Up Dead Man, the third entry in Rian Johnson\u2019s Knives Out film series, and Edgar Wright\u2019s The Running Man.<\/p>\n In a September 25 statement, Eastwood said that getting the chance to work with Brolin \u201cis everything I could have hoped for.\u201d He added, \u201cHis presence and gravitas define Mister and bring the film to life in every way.
