The Office<\/em> stars Oscar Nu\u00f1ez and Kate Flannery scored big on Thursday\u2019s season finale of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire<\/em>. The actors, playing for Planned Parenthood and Philadelphia\u00a0 food bank Philabundance, won the coveted $1 million prize.<\/p>\n On the game show, the duo reached the final question: \u201cThe word \u2018planet\u2019 comes from an ancient Greek word that literally means what?\u201d Flannery selected \u201cWanderer\u201d while Nu\u00f1ez was so stressed out he lay down on the floor of the studio. Host Jimmy Kimmel milked the moment, delaying confirming that their answer was correct for a very tense minute.<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n After Kimmel announced the pair had won, Flannery exclaimed, \u201cWhat is happening? What is happening? What the hell, you guys? Oh my God.\u201d The actors then accepted a giant check on behalf of their causes as confetti fell.<\/p>\n During the competition, Nu\u00f1ez and Flannery used their Phone-a-Friend to call The Office<\/em> co-star Brian Baumgartner, making it a true Dunder Mifflin reunion.<\/p>\n Nu\u00f1ez\u2019s reunion with Flannery on Millionaire<\/em> comes after he reprised his role as Oscar Martinez on Peacock\u2018s The Office<\/em> spinoff The Paper<\/a><\/em>, which debuted earlier this month. The comedy series stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Imappaciatore, Alex Edelman, Gbemisola Ikumelo, and Chelsea Frei.<\/p>\n The Paper<\/em> co-creators recently told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> they first approached Nu\u00f1ez \u201cyears ago\u201d about coming back as Oscar. \u201cI first pitched this in 2017,\u201d Greg Daniels said.\u00a0\u201cThe Office<\/em>\u00a0was really big on Netflix. It was the number one show on Netflix from 2016 to 2020, I think. At the time, there was a lot of pressure [for a spinoff], but I couldn\u2019t do it yet because I was running a show called\u00a0Upload<\/em>\u00a0for Amazon. But I didn\u2019t want them to start thinking about someone else to come be brought in. So I planted my flag saying, \u2018This is going to be about journalism, and Oscar is going to be the character.\u2019<\/p>\n He added, \u201cI met with Oscar and said to him, \u2018Tell me if you\u2019re about to take something that would interfere with this because maybe we\u2019ll come up with some kind of holding deal.\u2019 But I always thought that Oscar was the right character. Because so many of the other\u00a0Office\u00a0<\/em>characters in the finale had a closure to their character arcs. They were going into different fields and they were going to different cities.
