Jessica Sanchez<\/a> hopped on a live video to thank her fans and process this big moment. <\/p>\nSanchez is nine months pregnant. Although it was late Wednesday evening, after she\u2019d already taken part in the \u201cAGT\u201d two-hour season finale and done a series of interviews, the adrenaline of it all was keeping her going.<\/p>\n
On a live Instagram video, Sanchez repeatedly expressed disbelief in being named the Season 20 winner.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t believe what just happened,\u201d she said at the start of the video. \u201cThis is crazy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did not think tonight was going to go the way it did because I shared the stage with so many amazing talent,\u201d she continued. \u201cEverybody was so amazing and I\u2019m just so honored and so grateful that you guys thought I deserved to be crowned the winner, and again just for believing in me.\u201d <\/p>\n
Jessica Sanchez on returning to music, \u2018AGT\u2019<\/h3>\n The victory comes 20 years after Sanchez competed on the first season of \u201cAGT\u201d when she was just 10 years old. She made it to the semifinals then. <\/p>\n
A few years after that, in 2011, she competed on \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d and made it all the way to the finale, where she ended up placing as the runner-up to winner Phillip Phillips.<\/p>\n
But over time, as Sanchez told the judges during her \u201cAGT\u201d audition, she found herself discouraged and needing a break from music. She had been so young when she started doing this, and she wanted to make sure she was doing it for herself and not for others.<\/p>\n
Returning to \u201cAGT\u201d for Season 20 was a big step in her return to pursuing music \u2014 and it was a decision Sanchez said she didn\u2019t make lightly.<\/p>\n

The singer said she hadn\u2019t been doing much music when she decided to go on \u201cAGT\u201d again \u2014 which made returning even more daunting. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was really scary for me because I\u2019d done this before, and I feel like I\u2019d failed in the past. So coming back, it was really scary \u2014 and then a couple of days later I find out that I\u2019m pregnant.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sanchez said she questioned if she should still pursue \u201cAGT\u201d after learning she was pregnant, but her husband encouraged her to go through with it. She said she had a \u201cpeaceful\u201d feeling about returning.<\/p>\n
\u201cGod has opened that door and I think it\u2019s your responsibility to just walk through it and see what happens,\u201d Sanchez recalled her husband telling her. \u201cI just took a leap of faith and did the audition.\u201d<\/p>\n
