Law & Order: Organized Crime<\/em><\/a>\u00a0made the move from NBC<\/a> to Peacock<\/a> for its fifth season, and due to the nature of streaming shows, that means it only consisted of 10 episodes.<\/p>\n Organized Crime<\/em> is now back on NBC, airing alongside\u00a0Law & Order<\/em><\/a> and\u00a0SVU<\/em><\/a> to bring back the franchise\u2019s takeover of Thursday nights as of September 25, but the network is simply re-airing the Season 5 episodes that are already streaming.<\/p>\n Christopher Meloni<\/a> did appear in the\u00a0SVU<\/em> Season 27 premiere<\/a>, joining Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay<\/a>) outside the wake for their former boss, Cragen, but their interaction didn\u2019t include any mention of what\u2019s going on with Stabler professionally to even hint at what the future could hold for him.<\/p>\n The Season 5 finale of the\u00a0Meloni-led spinoff began streaming as of Thursday, June 12. This season saw the exit of an original cast member and a major death for the Stabler family. But what does Organized Crime<\/em>\u2018s future hold? Does it have one?\u00a0Read on for everything we know about a potential Season 6, from the cast to the premiere date and more.<\/p>\n Not yet. But the finale was just released, and<\/em> it\u2019s its first on Peacock. It\u2019s not necessarily a bad sign that it hasn\u2019t been renewed.<\/p>\n In the penultimate episode, Stabler\u2019s brother Joe Jr. (Michael Trotter) was murdered by crime boss Julian Emery (Tom Payne), whom he\u2019d been traveling with since the Season 4 finale. In the Season 5 finale<\/a>, Stabler and the NYPD did arrest Emery, who tried to get a deal for home confinement by offering up valuable intel, but then critical information arrived via Joe Jr. He had mailed a flash drive on which he\u2019d kept all the evidence he\u2019d been gathering against Emery. He was honored with a plaque for his work as a criminal informant.<\/p>\n In addition to Christopher Meloni as Detective Elliot Stabler, the series regular cast by the end of Season 5 included Danielle Mon\u00e9 Truitt<\/a> as Sergeant Ayanna Bell, Rick Gonzalez<\/a> as Detective Bobby Reyes, and Dean Norris<\/a> as Randall Stabler. In Season 5 Episode 3, Detective Jet Slootmaekers (Ainsley Seiger<\/a>) took a leave from the team. If the show is renewed, we\u2019ll have to see who returns.<\/p>\n That\u2019s hard to say. Streaming shows are 10 episodes, so it would either be a fall or midseason show. We predict the latter, just due to production, if it is renewed and is going to be released during the 2025-2026 season.<\/p>\n Beyond another multi-episode arc for the OCCB and some more Stabler family drama, it\u2019s hard to say.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think anybody including Peacock knows exactly what they\u2019re going to do just yet,\u201d Meloni told TV Insider<\/a> on June 10 when discussing what could be coming up in Season 6.<\/p>\n But he added, \u201cI hope it\u2019s something that pushes the boundaries, provocative storytelling in this crime-family drama. I hope all the actors that surround me have a larger slice of the pie because I think ensemble pieces appeal to me. I think there is more room to tell stories in the dynamic and relationships. I feel we did it this year. We took advantage of the Peacock platform, which allows for a little more elbow room for storytelling. I hope we continue that trend.\u201d<\/p>\n Not yet.
