The Epstein scandal<\/a> continues to embarrass the British royal family, even years after Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s death. The convicted sex offender\u2019s ties to Prince Andrew, and the way the prince failed to distance himself from Epstein, were, in many ways, the biggest reason why Prince Andrew is no longer a working royal. And now, the Epstein shadow is coming for Sarah Ferguson after a recent email leak has made clear she also had close ties to Epstein in private, even as she pretended to rebuke him in public.<\/p>\n Virginia Giuffre\u2019s sister-in-law is calling for the Duchess of York to be stripped of her royal title after it has surfaced that she called Epstein a \u201csupreme friend\u201d in a recently leaked 2011 email. A spokesperson for Ferguson said about the subject, \u201cThis email was sent in the context of advice the duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats.\u201d Epstein threatened to sue after the Duchess of York publicly condemned him.<\/p>\n Ironically, these emails were leaked just a few days after both Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew<\/a>\u00a0were photographed with members of the royal family at the\u00a0funeral of the Duchess of Kent<\/a>, which puts the royal family in a very awkward position.<\/p>\n Reportedly, \u201cWilliam feels even more strongly than The King that Andrew and Fergie are an embarrassment and will be urging his father to act,\u201d a source told the\u00a0Daily Mail<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThe optics of that pair of chancers guffawing away [at events] look terrible.\u201d<\/p>\n However,\u00a0King Charles<\/a>\u00a0isn\u2019t ready to cut his brother off. \u201cThe King doesn\u2019t want to cut ties with his brother, former sister-in-law and that side of the family,\u201d the insider continued. \u201cThe late Queen, conscious that Fergie was the mother of her granddaughters, always took that view, even if\u00a0Prince Philip\u00a0couldn\u2019t bear to be in the same room as Sarah.\u201d<\/p>\n The leaked email scandal has already caused seven charities to remove\u00a0Sarah Ferguson<\/a>\u00a0as patron or ambassador, according to the\u00a0BBC<\/em><\/a>. Those charities are Prevent Breast Cancer, the Teenage Cancer Trust, Children\u2019s Hospice Julia\u2019s House, the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, the Children\u2019s Literacy Charity, and the British Heart Foundation. Julia\u2019s House said, considering the circumstances, it was \u201cinappropriate\u201d for Ferguson to continue in the role.<\/p>\n And now, with the pressure coming from Virginia Giuffre\u2019s family, it might all be too much for the British royal family to continue supporting the Duke and Duchess of York, who have never been too popular in the first place.
