Mark Hamill<\/a> will receive the Gregory Peck Award for Cinematic Excellence at the San Diego Intl. Film Festival, which runs Oct. 15-19. The festival also announced that Oscar-winner Marlee Matlin<\/a> (\u201cCoda<\/a>\u201d) will be honored with the Visionary Impact Award, while John Magaro<\/a> is set for the Virtuoso Award and Joe Manganiello<\/a> will be recognized with the Spotlight Award at the Night of Stars Tribute. Rian Johnson<\/a>\u2019s \u201cWake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery<\/a>\u201d is set to close the festival.<\/p>\n

Hamill \u2014 who rocketed to stardom as Luke Skywalker<\/a> in 1977\u2019s \u201cStar Wars,\u201d and repised the role in its sequels, Season 2 of \u201cThe Mandalorian<\/a>\u201d and \u201cThe Book of Boba Fett<\/a>\u201d \u2014 can be currently seen onscreen in Lionsgate<\/a>\u2019s Stephen King<\/a> adaptation \u201cThe Long Walk<\/a>,\u201d from director Francis Lawrence<\/a>. He starred with Tom Hiddleston<\/a> in Neon<\/a>\u2019s \u201cThe Life of Chuck<\/a>,\u201d which won the Audience Award at the 2024 Toronto Intl. Film Festival.<\/p>\n
