Former Canadian hockey player Giovanni Michael Robinson<\/strong> died on a golf trip just six weeks after welcoming his first daughter and one week before his sister\u2019s wedding.<\/span><\/p>\n

Robinson was shot and killed in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin on Wednesday, September 24, the Sheboygan Falls Police Department confirmed in a statement<\/a>. He was 32 years old.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAt this time, no suspects have been apprehended and the motive behind this senseless act remains under investigation,\u201d the statement read. \u201cThe department is committed to utilizing all available resources to apprehend those responsible and hold them accountable for their actions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Robinson, who was known by Mike to his family and friends, was shot just after midnight while walking back to his Wisconsin hotel after golfing at Whistling Straits Golf Course, where he had just celebrated his first-ever hole-in-one.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHollywood has mourned the deaths of some of its most legendary stars in 2025. January brought the tragic news of the death of Twin Peaks cocreator David Lynch. February saw the deaths of \u201cKilling Me Softly With His Song\u2019 singer Roberta Flack and Gossip Girl alum Michelle Trachtenberg. Boxing great George Foreman died in March, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHe was a very good man, and he was an awesome brother,\u201d Mike\u2019s brother Jacob<\/strong> told Milwaukee\u2019s TMJ4<\/a> on Thursday, September 25. \u201cHe was an even better husband. And he was going to be an amazing dad. He was excited to be a father.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Jacob added, \u201cJust this senseless act has taken away so many aspects. Not only a brother, but a son and a husband, and now my little niece \u2014 she\u2019s only six weeks old \u2014 and she\u2019s never really going to ever know her true father.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Mike and his wife, Rachel<\/strong>, got married in 2022. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Farrah<\/strong>, in August.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The murder came one week before Mike\u2019s sister was supposed to get married. Jacob told Fox6 Milwaukee that the ceremony has been postponed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy heart wrenches for my sister,\u201d Jacob said. \u201cI can\u2019t explain how that feels to have to cancel your wedding because your brother\u2019s funeral is going to replace the wedding. I don\u2019t have any emotions other than pain and sadness.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

According to a police report, authorities believe Mike was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When police arrived, they found Mike suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene after attempts to save his life were unsuccessful.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mike played for the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League in St. Catherines, Ontario from 2012 to 2014. He also played for the Stouffville Spirit of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) for nearly a decade before joining Niagara.<\/span><\/p>\n
