Good news has arrived for fans of The Diplomat<\/em>. The Netflix series starring Keri Russell as diplomat Kate Wyler is confirmed to return<\/a> for a fourth season. The news comes ahead of season 3, which will premiere on Oct. 16, 2025. Here\u2019s what we know so far about season 4.<\/p>\n

Who will be in the cast?<\/h2>\n

Russell, Rufus Sewell, David Gyasi, Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnear, and Ato Essandoh are set to reprise their roles in season 4. Allison Janney and Bradley Whitford have also been promoted to series regulars.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking with Allison and Brad, watching them together again, and the off the charts foursome that is them with Keri and Rufus\u2026 it\u2019s an insane bag of candy,\u201d series creator, showrunner, and executive producer Debora Cahn told Tudum<\/a><\/em>. \u201cOur expectations were high and it blew right past them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was thrilled when I heard that Debora was interested in me doing something,\u201d Whitford previously told Tudum<\/a><\/em>. \u201cI had no idea what it was, but I love the show. I was jealous of the writing on this show. I love Keri. I love Rufus. And I hear Allison Janney is good at acting too. It\u2019s an amazing cast.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBrad was the fantasy version of Todd\u2014for all of us,\u201d Cahn said. \u201cWe still can\u2019t believe it came true.\u201d Executive producer Janice Williams added, \u201cBradley was the perfect addition to what is already a dream cast.\u201d<\/p>\n

When will The Diplomat <\/em>season 4 come out?<\/h2>\n

A release date hasn\u2019t been set yet, but production is slated to begin this fall.<\/p>\n
