SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage<\/a>) \u2014 Comedian Jimmy Kimmel and his show \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d are set to return to air on Nexstar ABC affiliate stations on the night of Sept. 26.<\/p>\n

Kimmel was suspended by ABC after controversial comments made by the comedian in reference to the assassination of political activist Charlie Kirk. Both Nexstar and the Sinclair Broadcasting Group pulled Kimmel from local ABC affiliates after the comments.<\/p>\n

According to the official press release from Nexstar:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have had discussions with executives at The Walt Disney Company and appreciate their constructive approach to addressing our concerns. As a local broadcaster, Nexstar remains committed to protecting the First Amendment while producing and airing local and national news that is fact-based and unbiased and, above all, broadcasting content that is in the best interest of the communities we serve. We stand apart from cable television, monolithic streaming services, and national networks in our commitment \u2013 and obligation \u2013 to be stewards of the public airwaves and to protect and reflect the specific sensibilities of our communities. To be clear, our commitment to those principles has guided our decisions throughout this process, independent of any external influence from government agencies or individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kimmel\u2019s show will return to air on Nexstar ABC stations on the night of Sept. 26 at 11:35 p.m. ET and 10:35 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n
