Reality competition and procedural shows are king and they are proving it this week as a whopping whole three have made our list.<\/p>\n
This weekend, Sept. 27-28, catch up on the first episodes you may have missed, ranging from a new Bachelor<\/a> franchise installment to the Law & Order<\/a> premieres (yes, plural. There are many!).<\/p>\n A slow weekly binge not for you? No problem, we have a nearly 3-hour-long movie lined up in theaters if that’s more your speed \u2014 and it’s already been lauded as one of the best movies of the year.<\/p>\n And there’s more! Here’s a list of the eight best new movies and shows to watch this weekend and where to stream them.<\/p>\n A trailer set to Beyonc\u00e9<\/a>‘s “Freedom” starring Leonardo DiCaprio<\/a> and Sean Penn<\/a>? Yeah, we’re sat.<\/p>\n Directed by the iconic Paul Thomas Anderson<\/a>, One Battle After Another stars DiCaprio as Bob Ferguson, a vigilante and former rebel who is on the run from Penn’s Officer Steven Lockjaw. But when his daughter Willa (Chase Infiniti) is taken, he must leave his paranoid self-imposed isolation to find and save her.<\/p>\n One Battle After Another<\/a> releases in theaters on Sept. 26.<\/p>\n Eleanor isn’t your average Jewish grandmother. Brought to life by the imitable June Squibb<\/a>, Eleanor is a Holocaust survivor who, after experiencing a difficult loss, moves to Manhattan for the first time at 94 years old.<\/p>\n There, she meets a young woman mourning the death of her mother, who takes an interest in telling her story. Directed by Scarlett Johansson<\/a> in her directorial debut, Eleanor the Great’s poignancy won’t leave a dry eye in the theater.<\/p>\n Eleanor the Great<\/a> releases in theaters on Sept. 26.<\/p>\n You know and love the beer, but have you ever wondered about the family behind it? Well Netflix has decided you have and presents you with House of Guinness, a look back at the four children of Sir Benjamin Lee Guinness who are divided after the death of their father.<\/p>\n Now, Arthur (Anthony Boyle), Edward (Louis Partridge<\/a>), Anne (Emily Fairn) and Benjamin (Fionn O’Shea) must oversee the future of the Guinness name while external \u2014 and internal \u2014 forces work to tear them apart.<\/p>\n Watch House of Guinness<\/a> on Netflix<\/a>.<\/p>\n I mean, we’ll take any excuse to watch Jesse Williams<\/a> beat up people in the backdrop of the Amalfi Coast in Italy for hours, right? And Hotel Costiera gives us just that.<\/p>\n Williams is Daniel De Luca, a former Marine who returns to Positano to work as a concierge at a luxury hotel. But when the owner’s daughter disappears, he’s tasked with finding her \u2014 and has a number of fun (wink) dalliances along the way.<\/p>\n Watch Hotel Costiera<\/a> on Prime Video<\/a>.<\/p>\n Twenty-somethings aren’t the only people who get to fight over a man and have petty beef with each other on national TV \u2014 middle-aged women can (and do!) too, as proven to us on The Golden Bachelor season 2.<\/p>\n After a beloved first season with Gerry Turner<\/a>, a new “golden” Bachelor, Mel Owens<\/a>, takes the helm, and the women vying for his heart are giving the Gen Z and millennials in the original franchise a run for their money.<\/p>\n Watch The Golden Bachelor<\/a> season 2 on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC and next day on Hulu<\/a>.<\/p>\n Owen Hanson was a quarterback at the University of Southern California in the early 2000s, but to many on campus he was known for something else entirely: peddling drugs.<\/p>\n After graduating, he turned his part-time hobby into a get-rich-quick scheme and quickly became a drug kingpin, working with a Mexican cartel. Now, he’s been released from prison after serving seven years of his 21-year sentence \u2014 and his story is being told in a Prime Video docuseries.<\/p>\n Watch Cocaine Quarterback<\/a> on Prime Video<\/a>.<\/p>\n Settle in for Law & Order Thursdays folks because all four (yes, four!) iterations of the show are back.<\/p>\n The original Law & Order kicks off the night at 8 p.m. ET, followed by everyone’s favorite detective Olivia Benson’s (Mariska Hargitay<\/a>) Law & Order: SVU at 9 p.m. ET and Law & Order: Organized Crime at 10 p.m. ET. While those three air on NBC, Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent premieres its second season at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.<\/p>\n Watch Law & Order<\/a>, Law & Order: SVU<\/a> and Law & Order: Organized Crime<\/a> on Peacock<\/a> and Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent on Hulu<\/a>.<\/p>\n The fourth season of Special Forces kicked off on Sept. 25 featuring a number of celebrities including Teresa Giudice<\/a>, Jussie Smollett<\/a> and Kody Brown<\/a>.<\/p>\n In the cities of Morocco, the contestants are challenged to train like the U.S. Army, from surviving in the wilderness to running increasingly dangerous drills. Would we do it?
