LOS ANGELES \u2212 Amid themes of political struggle, oppression and resistance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s big-budget satire\u00a0“One Battle After Another,”<\/a>\u00a0there’s laugh-out-loud comedy \u2212 especially when\u00a0Leonardo DiCaprio<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Benicio del Toro<\/a>\u00a0share the screen for the first time in the movie, filmed partly in Stockton<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n “Think about ‘The Dude,’ if he was put into a modern context and was a revolutionary,” DiCaprio says of the robe, speaking in a joint interview with del Toro for the new movie (in theaters Sept. 26<\/a>). “We had a lot of discussions, because I have one costume. Several Stockton Police Department vehicles were spotted next to production crews.<\/p>\n Actors were also spotted filming at the former San Joaquin County Courthouse downtown. Throughout the decades, filmmakers have brought cameras and stars to some of Stockton’s most iconic landmarks.<\/p>\n The 1949 Academy Award winner, “All the King’s Men,” was shot entirely in Stockton and featured several prominent locations, including the historic city hall and Hotel Stockton. The hotel makes a special appearance when the titular character, Willie Stark, becomes the governor.
