When Grammy-winning artist, guitarist, and producer\u00a0Buddy Miller<\/strong>\u00a0calls you up and says,\u00a0\u201cHey, I\u2019ve got a song you oughta hear,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0anyone in their right mind would have a listen. In this case, the voice on the other end of the line was\u00a0Nitty Gritty Dirt Band<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0co-founder\u00a0Jeff Hanna<\/strong>, and boy, what a song it turned out to be.<\/p>\n \u201cNight After Night<\/strong>,\u201d the Dirt Band\u2019s new single and the first listen from the group\u2019s upcoming EP of the same name, is a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers\u2013esque rocker perfectly suited to kick off their first release of all-new music since 2009\u2019s\u00a0Speed of Life<\/em>\u00a0and a follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2022 release,\u00a0Dirt Does Dylan<\/em>.<\/p>\n Produced by fellow Grammy-winner and dobro master\u00a0Jerry Douglas<\/strong>\u2014who first met the Dirt Band at age 19 and went on to play on the group\u2019s first number one single, \u201cLong Hard Road\u201d\u2014Night After Night<\/em>\u00a0finds Hanna joined by bandmates\u00a0Jimmie Fadden<\/strong>\u00a0(drums),\u00a0Bob Carpenter<\/strong>\u00a0(harmony vocals, Hammond organ),\u00a0Jaime Hanna<\/strong>\u00a0(electric guitar, harmony vocals), and\u00a0Ross Holmes<\/strong>\u00a0(mandolin), plus guest musicians\u00a0Viktor Krauss<\/strong>\u00a0on acoustic and Tic-Tac bass and Douglas on lap steel guitar.<\/p>\n \u201cNight after night, I\u2019m so blue \/ Can\u2019t even dream my dreams of you,\u201d sings Hanna with his signature, ever-cool delivery while the freight-train groove of the band never lets up. \u201cIt\u2019s right in our wheelhouse, and it\u2019s pretty easy to tell what a blast we had playing and singing it,\u201d Hanna exclaims.<\/p>\n Due out on\u00a0October 24, 2025<\/strong>, the\u00a0Night After Night<\/em>\u00a0EP was recorded at\u00a0Ocean Way Studios<\/strong>\u00a0in Nashville and\u00a0The Tractor Shed Studio<\/strong>\u00a0in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, and was mixed by\u00a0Sean Sullivan<\/strong>\u00a0alongside Hanna and Douglas. The EP is a family affair for Hanna, who co-wrote three of the new songs. \u201cNashville Skyline\u201d was co-written by Hanna, his wife and celebrated songwriter\u00a0Matraca Berg<\/strong>, and his son and bandmate Jaime.
