\n\tParamount<\/a> Pictures and Hybe America<\/a> have finalized the cast for their upcoming K-pop musical drama<\/a>, adding nine stars to an already buzzy lineup.<\/p>\n

\n\tKorean stars Sung Jun (\u201cGhost Mansion,\u201d \u201cThe Villainess\u201d), Kang Sora (\u201cStrangers Again,\u201d \u201cEndless Rain\u201d) and Hyongchol Lee (\u201cXO, Kitty\u201d) are among the actors joining the cast, which features previously announced stars Ji-young Yoo (\u201cKpop Demon Hunters\u201d), singer-songwriter Eric Nam (\u201cThe Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender\u201d), Yoo Ji-tae (\u201cOldboy\u201d), Tony Revolori (\u201cSpider-Man\u201d) and Gia Kim (\u201cXO, Kitty\u201d).<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso new to the cast are singer Ahin Lee, actor and singer Renata Vaca (\u201cMal De Amores,\u201d \u201cMidnight Family\u201d), musician-actor Silia Kapsis (who, at 17, made history as the youngest performer in Eurovision 2024), Aliyah Turner (\u201cPower Book III: Raising Kanan\u201d), Shana Kim (\u201cLove Me\u201d) and Jubi Park.<\/p>\n

\n\tBenson Lee (\u201cSeoul Searching\u201d) will direct the movie, which revolves around a young Korean American woman who defies her family\u2019s wishes by competing in a televised competition to find the next K-pop girl group. Eileen Shim wrote the latest draft of the screenplay after previous versions by \u201cCrazy Rich Asians\u201d scribe Adele Lim, as well as Elyse Hollander and Lee.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe project, the first major American studio film shot entirely in South Korea, is currently in production and slated for release in theaters on Feb. 12, 2027. <\/p>\n

\n\tJames Shin of Hybe America is producing the film alongside Arthur Spector and Joshua Davis of Epic Magazine and Scooter Braun. Executive producers include Joshuah Bearman of Epic Magazine, John Zaozirny and Scott Manson. Paramount\u2019s senior VP of production Bryan Oh is overseeing the project on behalf of the studio.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe movie has been in the works since 2020 and was originally set up at 20th Century Studios. Paramount\u2019s former motion picture group president Michael Ireland oversaw the project during its development at 20th Century Fox and acquired the film in turnaround from Disney before bringing it to Paramount under then studio chief Brian Robbins.<\/p>\n
