New Found Glory frontman Chad Gilbert returned to social media this week as he battles cancer to post a message that had fans sending prayers and love. <\/p>\n
And that was because, in the midst of his fight, it was a post filled with love an admiration for someone else. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis is probably the latest birthday post ever,\u201d <\/b>Gilbert wrote.<\/b><\/a> \u201cWe\u2019ve been busy celebrating and having family fun, so there hasn\u2019t been a proper time to sit down and write what needs to be said. <\/p>\n \u201cHappy birthday to my beautiful and caring wife \u2014 someone I\u2019m so lucky to have had brought into my life that one night at a boxing class,\u201d he continued. \u201cShe\u2019s a strong woman who goes above and beyond for her family. When she married me, I\u2019m sure she didn\u2019t expect to be picking me up off the floor at night, giving me stomach shots, and making more trips to the hospital that you could imagine. These are just some of the things she juggles while also taking care of our now 4-year-old. <\/p>\n \u201cA true angel and a dream I never thought would enter my life. Unconditional love is out there, my friends. Happy birthday (Lisa Cimorelli). I love you with all my remaining body parts.\u201d<\/p>\n Cimorelli responded, \u201cWaaaa thank youuu. Love you forever and ever with all of my heart and soul.\u201d<\/p>\n Fans were quick to comment with love and compliments. <\/p>\n This all comes after Gilbert recently gave an update on his fight against cancer. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been in the hospital all week,\u201d he wrote on Instagram. \u201cBeen a tough time but all for good reasons. Looks like all the pain was caused by us starting to kill the largest tumor in my lungs. Yesterday\u2019s scan showed more shrunken spots in other areas too! It\u2019s been brutal but for reasons that have blown me away. Praying we stay this course.<\/p>\n \u201cThe (Offspring) tour is over and I wish I got to play more but the shows I did get to play with my band felt special to me,\u201d he added. \u201cThank you to @danfys and @davidedwardknox for holing it down for me while I had to miss this one. I\u2019m thankful that I\u2019m still in the fight and look forward to putting this enemy to rest for good.<\/p>\n \u201cI encourage everyone going through emotional struggles to find joy in the simple things and the fun moments you might not have experienced without your struggle,\u201d he continued. \u201cWe learn from it all. I hope your day is awesome!\u201d<\/p>\n Gilbert said he was resuming the treatment after doctors found \u201ca small spot in my back,\u201d according to People Magazine.
