Brandon Lake<\/a>, a contemporary Christian musician and worship leader, experienced an uplifting moment on Sept. 21, when he performed at Charlie Kirk\u2019s<\/a> memorial service. <\/p>\n Lake, 35, is one of several artists<\/a> who appeared at the event, attended by tens of thousands of mourners at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. Clark, 31, a conservative influencer and founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated on Sept. 10<\/a> during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University.<\/p>\n Sunday\u2019s memorial service, called \u201cBuilding A Legacy: Remembering Charlie Kirk,\u201d<\/a> also featured worship music by Chris Tomlin<\/a>, Phil Wickham, Cody Carnes and Kari Jobe. <\/p>\n During a rendition of \u201cGratitude,\u201d Lake invited the crowd to sing part of his song. Lake paused at the microphone and the crowd took over for the chorus, which includes the lyrics: \u201cSo I throw up my hands\/and praise you again and again\/\u2019Cause all that I have is a hallelujah\/Hallelujah.\u201d<\/i> <\/p>\n \u201cThe crowd appears rapt, and people have stopping walking around for a moment to stand with their arms raised,\u201d Kevin Liptak reported for celebrity.land<\/a>. <\/p>\n The experience had emotional impact for Lake, too, as he noted in a Monday post on Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cStill trying to process the last 24 hours \u2026 but all I know is, for a moment, more people than I can fathom paused to lock their attention on God lifting up their hallelujah,\u201c Lake said in his post. \u201dI don\u2019t have the words to express how heavy I felt the glory of God in that moment. I simply came to honor a widow\u2019s wishes to have 2 hours of worship set the stage for the celebration of her husband\u2019s life and I walked out in awe of millions of hearts around the globe turning to Jesus. It was an honor to stand alongside my incredibly anointed friends @christomlin, @philwickham, @tiffanyhudson, @karijobe, and @codycarnesto bring the only thing we know to bring, our worship.” <\/p>\n Lake more than likely earned some new fans with his performance, adding to more than 9 million followers across social media platforms. Emotional and supportive comments flooded in as responses to his Instagram post, which included a video.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was the most incredible thing I have ever seen televised in my entire life,\u201d said @jess_braddock. \u201cI sobbed for 8 hrs yesterday. Christ IS being magnified!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI have never seen a moment more beautiful on TV,\u201d said @cristinpridemore. \u201cThis had me weeping.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI was in the line getting food in complete awe when I saw you on the screen,\u201d said @ms.ariana_1776. \u201cI COULD NOT believe the lineup and so proud of you all for singing there. It\u2019s bringing me to tears how incredibly special and pivotal every worshiper was there on stage. What it must\u2019ve meant to Jesus, Erika and Charlie. So much love and respect for you all. I\u2019m so proud of you guys.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cThe way y\u2019all ushered in the presence of God was tangible even through a screen,\u201d said @meremusic. \u201cYou all pointed everyone to Jesus in such a beautiful way, and the fact that the Gospel was shared repeatedly and clearly throughout the day just undid me. What an incredible celebration and honoring of Charlie\u2019s life!\u201d<\/p>\n Lake is a hugely popular figure in the Christian music world and the winner of five Grammy Awards<\/a>, 13 ASCAP Christian Music Awards, 10 GMA Dove Awards and other accolades.<\/p>\n He has five studio albums to his credit, including 2025\u2019s \u201cKing of Hearts,\u201d and hit singles such as \u201cGratitude,\u201d \u201cHoney in the Rock,\u201d \u201cPraise You Anywhere,\u201d \u201cThat\u2019s Who I Praise,\u201d \u201cHard Fought Hallelujah\u201d (with Jelly Roll), \u201cCan\u2019t Steal My Joy\u201d and \u201cI Know a Name.\u201d <\/p>\n Lake is a worship pastor and songwriter for Seacoast Church<\/a> in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and a former member of the Bethel Music and Maverick City Music collectives, <\/p>\n His \u201cKing of Hearts\u201d tour kicks off on Oct. 2 in Sunrise, Fla., and runs through May 2, 2026, ending in Charleston, S.C. Fifty shows are on his agenda, including a date in Birmingham on Nov. 6 at the Legacy Arena at the BJCC<\/a>. Opening acts for the 7 p.m. concert are Franni Cash and Pat Barrett. <\/p>\n The Legacy Arena show was announced in April, along with other dates on the tour. Scattered single seats and some limited view seats remain available in Birmingham via Ticketmaster<\/a>, priced at $49.75-$104.15, plus service charges.
