\u201cScrubs<\/a>\u201d fans, rejoice.<\/p>\n The series revival<\/a> is in production.<\/p>\n Original cast members just assembled for a read-through of the script.<\/p>\n \u201cA new chapter begins,\u201d Zach Braff<\/a> said, sharing a photo of the group from the table read.<\/p>\n The actor, who grew up in South Orange<\/a>, joined series creator Bill Lawrence<\/a> and co-stars Donald Faison<\/a>, Sarah Chalke<\/a>, Judy Reyes<\/a> and Short Hills<\/a>\u2019 John C. McGinley<\/a> at the read-through.<\/p>\n Braff was the first cast member to sign on for the revival<\/a>, which is bound for ABC.<\/p>\n He returns as John \u201cJ.D.\u201d Dorian<\/a>, a role he started playing in 2001 when \u201cScrubs\u201d premiered on NBC. The show later moved to ABC, where it ended in 2010.<\/p>\n ABC greenlit the revival show<\/a> in July with a straight-to-series order for the 2025-2026 season.<\/p>\n By that time, Faison had returned to play J.D.\u2019s colleague and friend Christopher Turk<\/a>, and Chalke had returned to play Elliot Reid<\/a>, a fellow doctor and J.D.\u2019s partner in life. All three actors are producers on the revival series.<\/p>\n Judy Reyes<\/a> later signed on to reprise her role as head nurse Carla Espinosa<\/a>, and John C.
