It will be comprised largely of reinterpretations of yuletide classics, as well as two original compositions, and you can pre-order it <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/linktr.ee\/thefutureheadsxmas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A brand new song \u2018The Coldest Winter In 100 Years\u2019 will appear on the record, as will the band\u2019s 2010 release \u2018Christmas Was Better In The 80s\u2019, the first festive song the band ever released.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Christmas\u2019 has been arranged, recorded and produced by the band themselves and also includes covers of favourites such as \u2018Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas\u2019, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/the-pretenders\">Pretenders<\/a>\u2018 \u20182000 Miles\u2019, Jona Lewie\u2019s \u2018Stop The Cavalry\u2019 and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/paul-mccartney\">Paul McCartney<\/a>\u2018s \u2018Wonderful Christmastime\u2019.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Futureheads - Christmas Was Better In The 80s\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SHNpS-pnH-M?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>To coincide with the album\u2019s release, the band will also play four exclusive shows in December, including two hometown shows at Sunderland\u2019s The Fire Station, and shows in Glasgow and EartH in London.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the shows go on sale on Monday (September 29) at 10am and you will be able to find yours <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ticketmaster-uk.tm7559.net\/c\/2862475\/431519\/7559?sharedid=NME&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.co.uk%2Fthe-futureheads-tickets%2Fartist%2F940418\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Futureheads will play:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>DECEMBER 2025<\/strong><br \/><strong>8 \u2013 Glasgow, Oran Mor<\/strong><br \/><strong>19 \u2013 Sunderland, The Fire Station<\/strong><br \/><strong>20 \u2013 Sunderland, The Fire Station<\/strong><br \/><strong>22 \u2013 London, EartH Theatre<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The band have said: \u201cWe are proud to have self-produced this collection of recordings. We are also proud and grateful to be still making music together after all these years and this album is a celebration of that. We love being in this band and when in good spirits, we make a special sound.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Quipping about recording the songs during a summer heatwave, they added: \u201cIf you\u2019re going to make a Christmas album, and want it done and dusted (or should that be polished) in time to release during the appropriate season, then sweaty summer sessions are a must!
