In September 2024, White and Seacrest began working together after the show\u2019s longtime host, Pat Sajak, retired from the iconic game show in June 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a Friday interview with People<\/a>, White opened up about their two-decade-long friendship \u2014 and explained why the transition to a new host was \u201cflawless.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve known Ryan for over 20 years, but I\u2019ve never worked with him until last year,\u201d White said. \u201cHe has great energy, and he wants to do a great job. I mean, when he first started, he goes, \u2018Look, I can never replace Pat Sajak. I\u2019m just going to go in and do the best job I can.\u2019 And that\u2019s what he\u2019s done.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Thanks to their bond, the two have created a lighthearted backstage ritual before each taping. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cBefore we go out, I turn to him and say, \u2018Do I have lipstick on my teeth?\u2019\u201d she said, adding that<\/span> Seacrest is consistently honest with her \u2014 and always has her best interests at heart. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
