King Charles spent three days entertaining Donald Trump earlier this month, and now that it\u2019s all done and dusted, Charles<\/a> may be getting on a plane to go see the president.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n President Trump<\/a> was in the U.K. for a state visit, which went so well that he\u2019d like to reciprocate<\/a> and invite Charles and Camilla to the US for a state visit of their own. While Charles and Camilla’s visit to the U.S. may be exciting for royal watchers, one expert says it may not be all that exciting forther royals themselves.<\/p>\n Speaking with The Daily Express U.S., royal expert Pauline Maclaran, Professor at Royal Holloway, revealed her first thoughts about the British monarch possibly visiting for the first time. “My first thoughts, poor Charles, having to show off his diplomacy again, potentially \u2013 just when he thought he could relax a bit, probably,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n According to Maclaran, her answer was only half joking. While the official invitation has not gone out, the White House has confirmed that it plans on inviting the royals at some point.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n When Maclaran was asked if Trump would follow through on this, the royal expert said it may depend on his mood. She explained: \u201cIt\u2019s very hard to predict Trump, and it will certainly depend on how he\u2019s feeling nearer the day.\u201d<\/p>\n It is well-known that President Trump has a soft spot for the Royal Family and wouldn\u2019t miss an opportunity to rub elbows with the royals<\/a>, which Maclaran expanded on. \u201cMy guess is he will not be able to resist another occasion to feature himself playing a starring role in the pomp and pageantry, although of course, this will not be as evident or colorful as it was in England,” she said.<\/span><\/p>\n DON\u2019T MISS:<\/strong><\/p>\n Moment Trump ‘snubbed’ Camilla in favor of Kate Middleton during UK visit<\/a><\/strong> \u201cHowever, the visit will certainly attract much attention and Trump loves that,” added Maclaran. It’s predicted that the king will likely accept President Trump’s invitation to come to the US.<\/p>\n Another expert said that the king should accept this, as we need to \u201cstand together.” Brittani Barger, co-founder of Royal News, claimed that acceptance would continue the repeatedly touted “special relationship” between the two countries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “I would think the King would accept it as it is a great way to keep the special relationship between the U.S. and UK,” she said. “In times such as these, it’s important that we stand together.\u201d<\/p>\n There is no record of a British monarch declining a state visit to the US, but with that said, it does depend on Charles\u2019 health, which comes first. If, for some reason, the British monarch is not able to make the visit, it\u2019s being said that Prince William and Princess Kate would go in his place, downgrading the visit to just an official visit.<\/p>\n “I think the only way Charles would decline the invite is for health reasons,” Barger said. “The visit might be altered so that the Prince and Princess of Wales could come in his place, of course, if the Princess’s health allows.
