Pete Davidson<\/strong> recently reflected on a heartbreaking conversation he had with his mother, Amy Davidson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, the Saturday Night Live!<\/em> alum appeared on Theo Von\u2019s<\/strong> This Past Weekend<\/a><\/em> podcast and recounted how his mom\u00a0gave him a major wake-up call while he was in treatment.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s been the most supportive ever, and it got to a point where she called me when I was in rehab and she was like, \u2018My biggest fear is that I will turn on the news and see that my son has died,’\u201d the comedian recalled.<\/p>\n The Staten Island native explained that his mother\u2019s words made him want to turn his life around, as she had never been so direct with him before.<\/p>\n \u201cThat killed me, so I was like, \u2018Alright, can\u2019t die until she\u2019s dead at least,\u201d he admitted. \u201cI\u2019d have to be a heartless f**king sociopath to not get my s**t together.\u201d<\/p>\n The Bupkis<\/em> alum \u2014 who has now been sober for more than a year \u2014 also explained he has a history of \u201cself-sabotage\u201d with the people closest to him.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cAnybody that\u2019s ever actually loved me or cared about me has gotten the worst wrath from me,\u201d he admitted. \u201cYou know it\u2019s few and far between, but when it happens, it\u2019s f**ked up.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis whole like, \u2018f**k you, leave me, like, go ahead, leave me\u2019, they started to, and I was like, \u2018Oh s**t you\u2019re calling my bluff, and I love you, and I don\u2019t want you to go away,’\u201d he confessed.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/staging.starmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/MEGA676349_033.jpg\")
