Popular pop singer Lola Young gave fans a scare during her show Saturday night at a music festival in New York City when she collapsed mid-song and had to be carried off the stage. <\/p>\n
The frightening scene played out after the 24-year-old cancelled Friday\u2019s show \u201cdue to a sensitive matter,\u201d according to Billboard.com.<\/a><\/p>\n The outlet said that Young \u201cgave a strong vocal performance but appeared flushed and emotional,\u201d during her show on Saturday. Billboard said she \u201cpowered through\u201d four songs before \u201cfalling backwards\u201d during the next. Young stopped to communicate with her keyboardist, per Billboard, before she collapsed. The outlet said her band, team and security rushed to help her, and that she was down for about \u201c30-45 seconds\u201d before being carried off the stage. <\/p>\n Billboard said that the crowd was \u201cin shock and quiet,\u201d before clapping for her as she was helped offstage. <\/p>\n Young\u2019s manager, Nick Shymansky, announced the cancellation of Friday\u2019s show on Instagram.<\/p>\n \u201cLola is very open about her mental health and there are very occasionally days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe,\u201d he wrote on Instagram. \u201cShe is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career and performances seriously. I can only send huge apologies for the inconvenience caused.\u201d<\/p>\n Billboard said that she addressed her decision to perform on Saturday before she collapsed.<\/p>\n \u201cToday I woke up and I made the decision to come here,\u201d she told the crowd. \u201cI wanted to be, I wanted to perform, and I didn\u2019t want to wallow in my sadness.
