Jennifer Lopez<\/strong><\/a> opened up about the life-altering impact of her divorce from Ben Affleck<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning<\/a>, shared via the outlet\u2019s YouTube account on Sunday, September 28, Lopez, 56, spoke about Affleck, 53, after the outlet\u2019s reporter Lee Cowan<\/strong> noted that Affleck served as a producer on Lopez\u2019s upcoming film Kiss of the Spider Woman<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe movie wouldn\u2019t have been made if it wasn\u2019t for him and Artists Equity. I will always give him that credit,\u201d Lopez said of Affleck and Matt Damon<\/strong>\u2019s artist-led production company before turning to how she juggled filming alongside Affleck with a less-than-perfect marriage.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was hard not to think about stuff but it was, like, the best and the worst of times. Every moment on set \u2026 I was so happy. And then\u2026 back home, it was not great,\u201d Lopez explained. \u201cBut you get through it and, you know, honestly, I have to say, it was the best thing that ever happened to me because it changed me. It helped me grow in a way that I needed to grow \u2026 become more self aware. I\u2019m a different person now than I was last year.\u201d<\/p>\n Lopez, who married<\/a> Affleck in 2022, filed to divorce the actor in August 2024, with the \u201cLet\u2019s Get Loud\u201d singer listing April 26, 2024, as the pair\u2019s official separation. The divorce was finalized<\/a> in January.<\/p>\n Cowan, 60, noted during the new interview that Lopez seemed to be \u201cin a good place \u2026 happy and confident,\u201d despite a tumultuous 18 months \u2014 which Lopez agreed with.<\/p>\n \u201cThis summer was probably the best summer I\u2019ve ever had. I\u2019m able to enjoy things more,\u201d she detailed. \u201cI realized that joy is in living \u2026 and really embracing life and everything that it brings to you. The hard times are the lessons and you have to understand that. I feel like, if that [the divorce] hadn\u2019t happened, I wouldn\u2019t understand that.\u201d<\/p>\n
