\n Dolly Parton won\u2019t be lighting up the Las Vegas Strip this December after revealing to fans that \u201csome health challenges\u201d are forcing her to postpone her residency in the city.\n <\/p>\n
\n The 79-year-old country music icon said in a statement<\/a> posted to social media Sunday she was told by doctors she has to undergo \u201ca few procedures,\u201d without elaborating further.\n <\/p>\n \n <\/strong>\u201cGiven this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,\u201d she wrote.\n <\/p>\n \n Parton was set to perform six shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from December 4 to 13 in her first Las Vegas residency in more than 30 years<\/a>.\n <\/p>\n \n Those shows have been postponed until September 2026. Current tickets are valid for the new dates and refunds are also available, according to the post.\n <\/p>\n \n Despite her health issues, Parton hasn\u2019t lost her sense of humor \u2013 joking that she told her doctors, \u201cIt must be time for my 100,000-mile checkup, although it\u2019s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n The singer also noted that she doesn\u2019t have any plans to retire, telling fans: \u201cWhile I\u2019ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say. And don\u2019t worry about me quittin\u2019 the business because God hasn\u2019t said anything about stopping yet.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n Parton lost her husband<\/a> of 60 years earlier this year. In July, she said on Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian\u2019s podcast<\/a> that she was taking a break from writing new music to grieve.\n <\/p>\n \n In November, Parton is set to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, an honorary Oscar, for her \u201cunwavering dedication to charitable efforts,\u201d the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced.<\/a>\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
