Actress Elaine Hendrix, who is currently on Dancing with the Stars<\/a>, has opened up about her ongoing recovery after she was hit by a car in 1992<\/p>\n Elaine is part of the ABC<\/a> show’s cast, alongside fellow stars such as Robert Irwin, Dylan Efron and Hilaria Baldwin. Elaine scored well this week, getting a respectable 21\/30 for her jive.<\/p>\n The 54-year-old, who is best known for her role in The Parent Trap, incorporated the movie into her first week’s routine, wearing a wide-brimmed hat similar to the one she famously wore in one of the film’s scenes.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n However, since her induction onto the show, Elaine has spoken out about how she manages day to day whilst recovering from a car accident.<\/p>\n Elaine was hit by a car 33 years ago while she was riding a bike in Los Angeles. She was a dancer at the time, but due to her injuries, had to pivot her career and become an actor instead.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Speaking to PEOPLE<\/a>, she said, “It’s a roller coaster because I have very real injuries, sustained from a very serious accident and other things that happened in life. So I have good days, and I have challenging days.
