Erika Slezak<\/span><\/strong> has recently made her debut on General Hospital<\/a><\/strong>, leaving fans curious about the new character. The Emmy-winning actress is known for her iconic role as Victoria \u201cViki\u201d Lord on the popular soap opera One Life to Live. She has now returned as an exciting addition in Port Charles.<\/p>\n Erika Slezak plays Veronica Bard in General Hospital.<\/p>\n Slezak made her daytime comeback on the Friday, September 26 episode of General Hospital. The show introduced Slezak\u2019s character at the end of the episode when Jane Elliot\u2019s Tracy Quartermaine came across a mystery woman at the Quartermaine mausoleum to visit the late Monica Quartermaine. When Tracy enquired who she was, the woman said that she\u2019s \u201csomeone who\u2019s been waiting quite a while to meet\u201d her.<\/p>\n Speaking with TV Insider<\/a>, Slezak opened up about her return to soap opera and revealed that her new character differs from her time on One Life to Live. The actress was not actively looking to make a comeback, but it was GH\u2018s executive producer, Frank Valentini, who changed her mind. Slezak had previously worked with Valentini when he directed OLTL.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been friends for a long time,\u201d Slezak said. \u201c[Valentini] called me in April and said, \u2018Would you like to come out and play at General Hospital? \u2018And I went, \u2018Sure, sometime.\u2019 And then he said, \u2018Well, how about in September?\u2019 And I went, \u2018Sure, September is far enough away.\u2019\u201d Slezak recalled.<\/p>\n The actress then gave her thoughts on the new role after Valentini discussed it with her. \u201cAnd then he filled me in on what he wanted for the story arc, and I said, \u2018That\u2019s very interesting, because it\u2019s completely different from what I played on One Life to Live.\u2019 And slowly, over the summer, it was dawning on me, \u2018Oh, my gosh, I\u2019m going back to work,\u2019\u201d she mused.<\/p>\n However, it is being said that her character, Veronica, will appear as a recurring character only. She will not return as a full-time character. For now, fans are still wondering how Veronica Bard is tied to the story and Monica.
