Ryan Seacrest<\/a> has received a lot of praise for how well he\u2019s taken to the role of Wheel of Fortune<\/em><\/a> host since Pat Sajak<\/a>\u2018s retirement last June, but there is one quirk which is starting to grate on some viewers.<\/p>\n Taking to the Wheel of Fortune<\/em> Reddit forum<\/a> on Friday (September 26), one user noted how they dislike how Seacrest seemingly tries to create drama by delaying the revealing of the prize card amount in the Bonus Round.<\/p>\n \u201cI hate the way Ryan Seacrest reveals the prize card in the bonus round. When it\u2019s the minimum of $40,000, he slowly opens it and slowly turns it around as if it were a bigger amount,\u201d the user wrote. \u201cJust open it and turn it around without hesitation when it\u2019s just the $40,000.\u201d<\/p>\n Others agreed, with one fan commenting, \u201cHe\u2019s got those American Idol<\/em> dramatics ingrained in him,\u201d referencing Seacrest\u2019s long-time hosting of American Idol<\/em> <\/a>since 2002.<\/p>\n \u201cI think he\u2019s varied his approach a little more this season, but I\u2019m in total agreement\u2013the prolonged wait invites contestants to think they\u2019ve won more, so their reaction when the $40,000 is revealed is momentarily \u201cfalse\u201d. Not that they aren\u2019t happy to win, but that they\u2019re expecting to express a greater joy than they actually do,\u201d said another.<\/p>\n \u201cAMEN ! He must be hearing a drum roll in his head?\u201d another added.<\/p>\n Another added, \u201cI\u2019ve also noticed that, and I HATE it cause of that it never anything but 40K HE TREATS IT LIKE 100,000 It ain\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI like Ryan! He seems excited to be there and he\u2019s personable with the contestants. The slow reveal is frustrating, I agree!\u201d said one fan.<\/p>\n \u201cLook at the bright side, at least he isn\u2019t Mayim Bialik<\/a>. She would pause for 5 seconds before revealing it,\u201d another quipped, referencing Bialik\u2019s time as Jeopardy!<\/em><\/a> host, where she was often criticized for taking too long a pause between revealing the correct answers.<\/a><\/p>\n Others were frustrated with how Seacrest rarely seems to read out the prize amount.<\/p>\n \u201cI actually think Ryan is doing a good job as host, but it definitely bugs me that he NEVER says the prize amount out loud in the bonus round!! He just opens the envelope and smiles. It\u2019s odd lol,\u201d explained one commenter.<\/p>\n Another added, \u201cI really like Ryan. I think he\u2019s been a great fit for the show if we can\u2019t have Pat anymore! But agreed, the slow prize card turning and not calling out the amount is frustrating.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI totally agree with you about him never mentioning the prize amount. Bizarre,\u201d said one fan.<\/p>\n Overall, though, many were happy with how well Seacrest is doing, with one fan writing, \u201cI actually like him more than Pat who was kind of mean to contestants frankly sometimes.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI hated him at first. He\u2019s grown on me as the host. My only complaint is his casual dress code,\u201d said another.<\/p>\n \u201cI think he\u2019s going a great job. It seems like people want to drag him because he\u2019s not Pat\u2019s clone.
