Yusuf\/Cat Stevens has officially postponed his North American book tour<\/a> due to ongoing visa delays.<\/p>\n Earlier this month, the singer-songwriter warned fans<\/a> that the tour \u2014 which is in support of his upcoming memoir, Cat on the Road to Findout<\/a><\/em> \u2014 was in \u201cserious jeopardy.\u201d The trek was slated to kick off in Philadelphia on Oct. 2, followed by stops in major cities that include New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWaiting months for visa approvals, we held out as long as we could,\u201d Yusuf said in a statement. \u201cHowever, at this point, the production logistics necessary for my show cannot be arranged in time. I am really upset! Not least for my fans who have bought tickets and made travel plans to see me perform.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cNorth American audiences may still get a chance to see the tour if visa approvals eventually come through. Those dates would be some time away because of other travel tour plans but, hopefully, fans will be able to hop on the Peace Train route at some time in the future. Meanwhile, tour delays should not affect the book, which you\u2019ll still be able to enjoy\u2026 the obvious benefit of it being \u2014 books don\u2019t need visas!\u201d<\/p>\n Yusuf\u2019s memoir was published U.K. on Sept. 18, and will be published in North America on Oct. 7.
