She\u2019s a very, very strong woman,\u201d he said on Sunday, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/sport\/golf\/rory-mcilroy-wife-ryder-cup-drink-usa-europe-b2835542.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">per the Independent<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, she handled everything this week with class and poise and dignity like she always has. I love her and we\u2019re going to have a good time celebrating tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The two appeared in good spirits after a can of beer was tossed at Stoll\u2019s head on Saturday. <span class=\"credit\">James Marsh\/Shutterstock<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><figcaption>An American fan allegedly threw the can.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>McIlroy was reportedly a big target on the European team and called out the foul \u201clanguage\u201d and \u201cunacceptable and abusive behavior\u201d of spectators throughout the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think we should ever accept that in golf,\u201d he said. \u201cI think golf should be held to a higher standard than what was seen out there this week. Golf has the ability to unite people.
