The NFL<\/a> has named its Super Bowl LX halftime performer.<\/p>\n According to celebrity.land<\/a>, the league announced on Sunday that Bad Bunny<\/a> will take center field at Levi\u2019s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Feb. 8 for football\u2019s big game.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat I\u2019m feeling goes beyond myself. It\u2019s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown\u2026 this is for my people, my culture, and our history,\u201d Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Mart\u00ednez Ocasio, said in an NFL statement announcing the show.<\/p>\n The NFL, Roc Nation and Apple Music, which produce the halftime show, shared a video teasing the rapper\u2019s headlining performance. In it, Bad Bunny, in a brown suit and Puerto Rican pava hat, sits on a goal post as his song \u201cCallaita\u201d plays.<\/p>\n Bad Bunny also took to social media to share the news.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I\u2019ll do just one date in the United States,\u201d he wrote in a tweet<\/a> referencing his vocal refusal to perform in the U.S. amid ongoing ICE raids.<\/p>\n It\u2019s been a monumental year for Bad Bunny, who recently wrapped up a two-month residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jos\u00e9 Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, which culminated in a concert streamed on Amazon. Since kicking off his residency in July, the rapper has garnered hundreds of millions of dollars in tourist revenue for Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring.
