Dutch actress, comedian and digital producer Eline Van der Velden, who created Norwood, made the bold claim over the weekend at a Zurich summit that the AI actress will be signed by an agency \u201cin the coming months.\u201d<\/p>\n

The idea of an AI-generated character garnering interest from talent agencies reinforces the notion that no one is safe.<\/p>\n Van der Velden told\u00a0Broadcast International\u00a0she hopes Norwood will be \u201cthe next Scarlett Johansson or Natalie Portman.\u201d She said audiences will ultimately determine whether AI talent succeeds. \u201cAudiences care about the story \u2014 not whether the star has a pulse,\u201d she wrote on LinkedIn.<\/p>\n It turns out, actors and other folks in Hollywood care if there is a pulse, and are voicing their concerns on social media.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n \u201cNot an actress actually,\u201d \u201cMonsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story\u201d actor Nicholas Alexander Chavez said. \u201cNice try.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe was a nightmare to work with,\u201d added \u201cRoad House\u201d actor Lukas Gage.<\/p>\n \u201cMovies are great but you know what would be better is if the characters in them weren\u2019t played by actual humans but by AI replicas approximating human emotion,\u201d \u201cShang Chi\u201d actor Simu Liu said on his Instagram story.<\/p>\n \u201cPretty telling that the industries first venture into this was to create a teenage girl they could control,\u201d screenwriter Brian Duffield said on X.<\/p>\n \u201cMaltilda\u201d actress Mara Wilson added: \u201cWhat about the hundreds of living young women whose faces were composited together to make her? You couldn\u2019t hire any of them?\u201d<\/p>\n A\u00a0public Instagram account\u00a0for Norwood had just over 19,000 followers at press time. The character\u2019s\u00a0Facebook account\u00a0boasts 16 friends; her last post was July 30, with 10 likes and four comments.<\/p>\n Van der Velden did not name any agencies, or specify whether they were among Hollywood\u2019s major talent stables.
