The Pitt<\/em><\/a>\u2019s freshman season earned critical acclaim for its unique take on documenting an emergency room shift \u2014 but according to Steven Weber<\/strong><\/a>, Chicago Med<\/em><\/a>\u2019s grit and grind shouldn\u2019t be overlooked.<\/p>\n Weber, who has been playing Dr. Dean Archer on Chicago Med<\/em> since 2021, weighed in on The Pitt<\/em>\u2019s recent hype, exclusively telling Us Weekly <\/em>on Thursday, September 25, \u201cI love The Pitt<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n He noted that he\u2019s \u201cfriends\u201d with The Pitt<\/em>\u2019s Noah Wyle<\/strong><\/a>, who plays Dr. Michael \u201cRobby\u201d Robinavitch, and the show \u201cdeserves their success.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Weber, 64, explained that the two shows are very different despite both revolving around doctors and nurses in emergency situations.<\/p>\n What Noah Wyle Has Said About How His Medical Drama \u2018The Pitt\u2019 Is Different From \u2018ER\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt’s a different world they’re looking at than the world we’re looking at. And ours is no less realistic. Ours is no less gritty,\u201d Weber said of Chicago Med<\/em><\/a>, which focuses on the Windy City\u2019s \u201cED\u201d or emergency department.<\/p>\n The actor added, \u201cIt’s just that they have, they’ve got a different approach. But I absolutely believe that both of these shows serve to show the humanity and the challenges in the medical field in as realistic a way as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n Chicago Med<\/em> premiered in 2015 as the third Dick Wolf<\/strong> series<\/a> about Chicago. It follows surgeons and nurses who cross over at times with the characters on Chicago Fire<\/em> and Chicago P.D<\/em>., which follow firefighters and police officers, respectively, in the same city.<\/p>\n
