LENEXA (KSNT<\/a>) \u2013 A former University of Kansas student will be performing in front of a national audience on NBC\u2019s \u201cThe Voice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Max Cooper, 23, has been playing music since he was just three years old. A few years ago, Cooper went viral on social media for his piano playing skills.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of people knew me just from my hands,\u201d Cooper said. \u201cLike they just saw my hands and the piano, they didn\u2019t know me as a person. And I want to release music, I want to write music, I want to go on tour and I thought The Voice would be a perfect opportunity for people to see me and who I am as an artist.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his audition last week for \u201cThe Voice,\u201d Cooper shocked judges with his performance of \u201cCooler Than Me\u201d by Mike Posner. All four coaches were blown away by his voice, including music legends like Snoop Dogg and Michael Bubl\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll I wanted was one chair turn. I was telling my friends, one chair turn would be great,\u201d Cooper told 27 News. \u201cI just want to make it through and show people what I can do, and it ended up being four, and what an honor it was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Because all four coaches turned their chairs, Cooper got to choose who he wanted to represent him on \u201cThe Voice.\u201d Cooper chose Bubl\u00e9.<\/p>\n
