After the Hunt<\/a> is one of the most thought-provoking movies of 2025, and the cast is very aware of that. In fact, they\u2019ve also had questions after the Amazon MGM Studios film\u2019s credits roll.<\/p>\n Directed by Luca Guadagnino from a script by Nora Garrett, as we previously reported After the Hunt, starring Julia Roberts<\/a>, Ayo Edebiri<\/a> and Andrew Garfield, is about \u201ca college professor (Roberts) who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star student (Edebiri) levels an accusation against one of her colleagues (Garfield), and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come into the light.\u201d<\/p>\n In our cast interview for Blavity\u2019s Shadow and Act, Roberts said of the film\u2019s tension, \u201cIt is stressful, but I think in the most delicious way, I like this kind of unsettled feeling when I\u2019m watching a movie because you feel alive and it\u2019s so fun to watch it in a theater with a bunch of people because not only do you need that kinship when it\u2019s over. Just the energy that everybody\u2019s sharing. I mean, that\u2019s why I think I love movies\u2026sitting in the dark with a bunch of strangers and having a shared experience. And this movie\u2026it needs that.\u201d<\/p>\n Edebiri added, \u201cI think the fact that you can also see a scene in this movie, and because of your own history or feelings about something or someone, or presumptions about somebody that you might not even know, you can have a completely different takeaway from the person who\u2019s next to you. You might be like, \u2018We see eye to eye on everything. And so I think I\u2019d be interested for viewers to see what those questions are within themselves and where they might overlap or completely differ from the people who they\u2019re seeing it with. Because that\u2019s been one of my favorite parts about this experience is talking to friends and family members who come to see it and what their takeaways are and why, and the places where also I\u2019m like, I was there, we made the movie, and you have an insight that is so specific, and so cool, and so different from what I think or thought or was even aware of.\u201d<\/p>\n Garfield said the one question he had after the film was, \u201cWhat\u2019s in the way of me being able to fully listen to another person?\u201d<\/p>\n He explained, \u201cThat\u2019s a question that I think about. And what\u2019s in the way of me getting to the place where I realize the truth, which is I am the other you and you are the other me, and if I hurt you, I hurt myself. And if I love you, I love myself.
