After month\u2019s of rumours and speculation, the NFL dream of having Taylor Swift<\/a> perform the Super Bowl<\/a> halftime proved not to be with the singer reportedly turning down the show.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old has proven to be one of the biggest stars in the world<\/a> and her recent engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce made the connection all the more fitting.<\/p>\n

With her highly anticipated upcoming album The Life Of A Showgirl on the way, many had speculated that it was a perfect marriage to have Swift play on one of the world\u2019s biggest stages.<\/p>\n

However, the Shake it Off singer and NFL apparently did not see eye-to-eye about the details of the performance.<\/p>\n

Sources said the megastar felt disrespected by the league, causing her to walk away from the potential gig.<\/p>\n

The Super Bowl halftime show is the pinnacle for many musicians, with past performers in recent years including Kendrick Lamar, Rhianna, The Weeknd and more \u2014 but none of these performers are paid.<\/p>\n

The NFL believe that the exposure from doing the halftime show is enough of a payment, but with the stardom that Taylor Swift has reached, exposure is the least of her concerns.<\/p>\n

The nail in the coffin came earlier this week, when the league announced Bad Bunny would be performing in the 2026 show, leaving many swifties disappointed.<\/p>\n

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell had previously been outspoken on their desire to have her star in the halftime show.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would always love to have Taylor play,\u201d the league boss said on the Today show earlier in September.<\/p>\n
