Primetime Emmy Winner and Academy Award nominee Felicity Huffman <\/strong>recently discussed her character, Dr. Joan Ridley<\/strong>, in the hit Fox medical drama series Doc<\/strong>, and her relationship with the series protagonist, Molly Parker\u2019s Dr. Amy Larsen<\/strong>. Huffman is slated to make her debut as Dr. Ridley in Season 2 Episode 2<\/strong>, which airs tonight.<\/p>\n Huffman previewed Dr. Ridley during a new interview with Deadline<\/a>, referring to her character as an \u201coutlier\u201d and an \u201ciconoclast\u201d with \u201ca varied and questionable past.\u201d The actress humorously added, \u201cI think she probably slept with one of the Rolling Stones and was in Somalia for Black Hawk Down.\u201d<\/p>\n Reflecting on what sets Doc apart from other medical shows, Huffman noted, \u201cIt\u2019s the premise,\u201d and pointed toward the show\u2019s origin. Notably, the series is based on the Italian show Doc \u2013 Nelle tue mani, which itself drew from the incredible true story of Dr. Pierdante Piccioni.<\/p>\n Dr. Ridley\u2019s storyline will continue at least throughout the rest of the season, which has 22 episodes in total, 12 more than the 10-episode first season.
