The post was a fake news report ostensibly from Lara Trump<\/a>, who is his daughter-in-law, and included a bogus announcement from Trump himself about \u201cmedbeds<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Those are supposedly miraculous (and nonexistent) devices that can cure just about any disease, reverse damage and even regrow limbs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cWell, we all know that\u2019s not true,\u201d Colbert said. \u201cIf the government had the power to regrow limbs, Trump\u2019s hand wouldn\u2019t look like a banana you forgot in your backpack.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Trump has been using makeup on his hand for months to mask bruising, which the White House has said<\/a> is from frequent handshakes and aspirin use. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The fact that Trump even shared the video in the first place left Colbert baffled.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThe president of the United States posted an AI video of a Fox News<\/a> report that never happened, featuring a fake version of himself, saying things he never said about a magic foot-growing-back body pod that does not exist, all reported by an AI anchor of his real daughter-in-law,\u201d he summarized. \u201cAfter watching that, I hope they have medbeds so I can regrow my brain back!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
