Season 7 of The <\/a>Kelly Clarkson<\/a> Show<\/a> is set to deliver more memorable \u201cKellyoke\u201d<\/a> song covers, plus new segments and more changes.<\/p>\n The show\u2019s music director, Jason Halbert, teased what famous tunes Kelly Clarkson<\/a> will sing on this season of her daytime talk show in an interview with Entertainment Weekly<\/a> published on Monday, September 29.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s one song I\u2019m really excited about called \u2018Carry It Well\u2019 [by] Sam Fischer,\u201d Halbert shared. \u201cI hadn\u2019t heard the song before, but I think it\u2019s gonna be a very impactful moment. We have another Whitney [Houston]<\/a> coming up. [It\u2019s] always great to hear Kelly cover Whitney. And I think we\u2019re doing Queen<\/a> for the first time ever. I don\u2019t think we\u2019ve done another Queen song, so that\u2019s gonna be fun.\u201d<\/p>\n As for which of the legendary rock band\u2019s tunes Clarkson will be singing? Halbert said she will take on the hit song \u201cAnother One Bites the Dust\u2019 in an upcoming episode. \u201cIt\u2019s been hard to find [songs] that haven\u2019t been covered by so many other artists,\u201d he said of Queen. \u201cWe either spotlight a new artist or, if we\u2019re gonna do a huge hit, we try to make sure that we\u2019re adding something to it.\u201d<\/p>\n This season\u2019s \u201cKellyoke\u201d tracks will also include \u201ctwo or three Maren Morris<\/a> songs,\u201d per Halbert. \u201cI guess she must have put a new album out. That\u2019s the only thing I can imagine. I haven\u2019t heard it yet, I\u2019m seeing these songs come in, so I\u2019m like, \u2018Kelly\u2019s listening to it!’\u201d he said. (Morris released her latest album, Dreamsicle, back in May, and its deluxe version in August.)<\/p>\n Along with new \u201cKellyoke\u201d performances, executive producer Alex Duda teased that Season 7 will feature a variety of new segments. \u201cWhen things are tough, [it\u2019s that] Mister Rogers<\/a> saying: \u2018You look for the helpers.\u2019 And that\u2019s what we always try always try to do,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cSo that\u2019s why our premiere this year was just about going back to that and finding the light. And [Clarkson\u2019s] always said that since the beginning of the show that that helps her, and I think, hopefully, it helps the viewers, too.\u201d<\/p>\n One new segment, \u201cLife Well Lit,\u201d will debut on the show\u2019s Tuesday, September 30, episode. \u201cIt\u2019s about people just spreading joy,\u201d Duda explained. \u201cWe had this woman who came on, she started a retro mall-walking in her in her town. They just dress in \u201980s clothes and they mall-walk through their local mall and she\u2019s trying to get others to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cCelebs With Skills,\u201d meanwhile, will highlight stars who possess unique talents. For its first segment, Nick Offerman<\/a> will join Clarkson to teach her and a group of kids about woodworking.<\/p>\n Dude went on to share more of this season\u2019s celebrity guests, stating, \u201cWe have Dwayne Johnson<\/a>, Emily Blunt<\/a>, Matthew McConaughey<\/a>, and Julia Roberts<\/a>. Just good, big names coming up.\u201d<\/p>\n Monday not only marked The Kelly Clarkson Show\u2018s Season 7 premiere, but also Clarkson\u2019s first time<\/a> back on the small screen following the death<\/a> of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock<\/a>. Clarkson did not address Blackstock\u2019s death during the episode. (Blackstock died of skin cancer at the age of 48 in August.)<\/p>\n
