Taylor Swift<\/a> fans are convinced that the musician left some huge Easter egg clues about her upcoming new album while performing in Cardiff last year.<\/p>\n The pop star is gearing up to release her 12th studio record, \u2018The Life Of A Showgirl\u2019<\/a>\u00a0this Friday (October 3), following on from last year\u2019s \u2018The Tortured Poets Department\u2019<\/a>. The album has already broken her own\u00a0Spotify<\/a> record with pre-saves of over five million already.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n Now, Swifties think that the musician may have left some huge clues about her upcoming release whilst playing in the city last year as part of her \u2018Era\u2019s Tour\u2019. Swift played at Cardiff\u2019s Principality Stadium on June 18 2024.<\/p>\n One of the Easter eggs that fans think they have spotted was that Swift\u2019s show at Cardiff was the 103rd show of the tour. Swift later revealed with fianc\u00e9 Travis Kelce on his brother\u2019s \u2018New Heights\u2019 podcast that the album would be released on October 3 \u2013 or 10\/3 in US date order. \u00a0<\/a> Swifties also spotted that when she later appeared in an orange dress at the same gig, the flashlight wristbands given to attendees flashed green during this segment.<\/p>\n Just one month before the album announcement came, the site Taylor Nation also posted a picture of Swift in an orange dress as part of a social media trend where people share pictures of themselves looking happy. That picture was taken in Cardiff.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the planned cinematic release party for \u2018The Life Of A Showgirl\u2019 happening later this week recently grossed $15million (\u00a311million) in pre-sales in just 24 hours<\/a>. The film is expected to gross somewhere between $30million and $50million (\u00a322.2million to \u00a337million) across its three-day run (Friday October 3 to Sunday October 5).<\/p>\n Swift will also make a return to The Graham Norton Show<\/em>\u00a0on her album release day<\/a> later this week. Elsewhere, approximately 500 Target branches in the US are due to open at midnight that day to sell \u2018The Life Of A Showgirl\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018The Life Of A Showgirl\u2019 was co-produced by\u00a0Max Martin<\/a>\u00a0and Shellback, alongside Swift herself.\u00a0The singer-songwriter has revealed the full tracklist for the album<\/a>, which includes\u00a0a team-up with Sabrina Carpenter on the title track<\/a>.<\/p>\n Swift has described \u2018\u2026Showgirl\u2019 as \u201cthe record I\u2019ve been wanting to make for a very long time\u201d. The LP will focus on \u201cwhat was going on behind the scenes in my inner life\u201d during the record-breaking \u2018Eras Tour\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n
Swift also referred to the Cardiff show as \u201cone for the books\u201d, which fans think could have held some deeper significance. Swift later shared a picture of herself in front of Cardiff Bay when she was sat in a \u201ccleaning cart\u201d (as per BBC<\/em><\/a>) that she was known to enter every gig in. Later, when on tour in Vancouver, Swift shared another picture of herself in front of Cardiff Bay \u2013 although this time it was in the form of a painting of the place.
The artist who painted the picture, Rachel Rasmussen, told the\u00a0BBC\u00a0<\/em>that she thought Swift may have used some of the colours from her painting in the colour scheme for her new album. Significantly, Swift also appeared in Cardiff wearing orange and green in a top and skirt outfit combination that had not been worn previously on the tour.
