PARKVILLE, Mo. \u2014 Dozens of businesses in downtown Parkville are throwing a party for the drop of Taylor Swift\u2019s new album on Friday \u2014 and you\u2019re invited.<\/p>\n
They\u2019re also celebrating the pop-star\u2019s engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.<\/p>\n
Teen charged in brutal beating of T-Mobile Center employee <\/a><\/p>\n Stephanie Herbig said more than 25 businesses in downtown Parkville are taking part in the free event celebrating Swift\u2019s new album release.<\/p>\n Herbig owns Cheeky Bird Boutique.<\/p>\n She said the orange door hanging in her store window represents a countdown to the album drop and fans are excited to enter a new era and hear Swift\u2019s new music.<\/p>\n \u201cWe created our version of the lover house,\u201d Herbig said.<\/p>\n The Life of a Showgirl \u2014 Parkville Style.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is Showgirl,\u201d Herbig said. \u201cThis not only brings together the colors, it\u2019s got a little Chiefs in there, a little Kansas City.\u201d<\/p>\n Herbig said on Friday more than two dozen businesses along main street will celebrate the release of Taylor Swift\u2019s new album, \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cEverybody is focused on celebrating,\u201d Herbig said. \u201cSo, you\u2019ll see Showgirl colors, you\u2019ll see Taylor Swift stuff, you\u2019ll see Chiefs stuff or a collab like my Taylor Swift lips with my Kelce jersey. So, everybody will kind of do their own thing, but it\u2019s fun, and music, and food.\u201d<\/p>\n Herbig said people can expect to see Swift inspired artwork, cocktails and clothes.<\/p>\n A variety of businesses are preparing, getting their restaurants and stores Bejeweled.<\/p>\n \u201cWe kind of feel like she\u2019s our hometown girl now,\u201d Denise Glanzer said. \u201cTravis has always been our hometown guy and now we feel like she\u2019s part of our hometown, too, and so everybody wants to get into the celebration of their engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n Glanzer owns White Farmhouse Flowers and Gifts.<\/p>\n They special ordered Showgirl Chocolates and orange Showgirl inspired sweatshirts.<\/p>\n They\u2019ll also offer peach bellinis as people shop and listen to the new album.<\/p>\n Herbig said she\u2019s serving a cocktail called \u201cChampagne Problems.\u201d<\/p>\n Glanzer said she\u2019s not surprised Parkville businesses pulled this event together in less than a Fortnight.<\/p>\n \u201cDowntown Parkville is a really unique town,\u201d Glanzer said. \u201cWe have a lot of community over competition down here. We all like to do things together and put on these big events.\u201d<\/p>\n Glanzer and Herbig are offering 13% off items in their stores on Friday, in honor of Swift\u2019s favorite number.<\/p>\n
